Ffestiniog Travel is delighted to be working in partnership with the famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways and Portmeirion Hotel to bring you this 3-night mini break to beautiful North Wales. Travel to this scenic part of Britain by train and enjoy the sumptious surroundings of the Italianate village of Portmeirion, nestled against the stunning Welsh coastline.

Be a passenger on the aptly named Snowdonian train as it takes its annual 80-mile round trip through the glorious Snowdonia National Park. The journey will cover the full length of both the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways in one day. To add more interest to this scenic journey, the Snowdonian will be hauled by a variety of motive power.

We have created a 5-day break that pays homage to the work and life of Wales’ great poet Dylan Thomas. Visit Swansea, the town of his birth and the famous boathouse in Laugharne where he spent the last years of his life. As rail experts we have also included wonderful scenic rail journeys during this break that take you through the heart of Wales, known aptly as the ‘land of poets’.

A family of three were visiting the UK from overseas and wanted a specific tour created that enabled them to see the sights of London and take a journey, via Oxford, through the Cotswolds to Bath. They wanted to capture a sense of Britain’s history so we even managed to include an overnight stay at magnificent Warwick Castle!
